Initially inspired by finding connections with people and their stories, both mental health and illness fascinate me. Furthermore Psychiatry spans a broad range of other medical specialities thus meaning Psych constitutes a dynamic, challenging field which I really enjoy being involved with. I have just finished an intercalated BSc in Medical Anthropology, and am currently in MBBS 3. I love living and studying in London, and making the most of the moment.

Psychiatry was my first love, and the area which made me apply for medicine in the first place!  I’m delighted to be part of the society, I think it’ll be a great year for everyone.

I applied to do medicine with the aspiration of one day becoming a psychiatrist; I am now entering my second year of medicine and have only been further inspired by the previous year’s PscyhSoc events. I am fascinated by the mind’s complexity and how it is so interlinked with the body and overall health. I think it’s a privilege to be trusted with people’s personal intimacies and have the rewarding opportunity to help them at their very lowest.

I am currently in my fourth year of medicine. I’m really interested in Psychiatry because I believe mental health spans many of the other specialities in medicine, and so is applicable across a broad field. I love living and studying in London and making the most of all it has to offer!

After various colourful degrees and career explorations in graphic design, complementary therapies and journalism, I am now a third year Medic at KCL, bringing it all together, and excited to see what happens next! It is difficult to envisage true health without mental health, so I have naturally gravitated towards “PsychSoc” to learn more.
